The one-piece mahogany body follows the classic recipe, as does the set mahogany neck, which in this case features the slightly more substantial ’65 profile. The rosewood fingerboard is fitted with 22 neatly installed medium frets, which we carefully dressed as part of our Plek analysis. With a 24.75″ scale length and a 42.9 mm nut width, the guitar offers a familiar and pleasantly compact playing feel.
Electronically, the Albatroz remains true to the historical concept: a single Amber P-90, positioned where it can be used most versatilely, controlled by individual Volume and Tone knobs. The solid wraparound bridge provides a direct, resonant construction, while Gotoh SD-90 tuners ensure reliable tuning stability with a classic-inspired design.
The guitar is in very good condition and shows only minor signs of use, which blend harmoniously with the factory aging. Technically, the instrument is completely original and shows no issues.
The original Maybach hardshell case.
Maybach has been one of the European manufacturers dedicated to the traditional craft of electric guitar making with great seriousness for many years. The instruments are built in close collaboration with experienced guitar makers in the Czech Republic and are then finalized in Germany. Within the model range, the Albatroz series takes the form of a deliberately purist guitar inspired by the early double-cut designs of the 1960s—reduced to the essentials, yet featuring the attention to detail that has always distinguished Maybach.
