Inside is the same compact 3-spring reverb tank assembly that defined the sound of the original big friendly White Whale stompbox. You’ve got individually operating bypass switches to tap into lush, splashy ‘verb and a sixties style valve amp tremolo.
Powering the White Whale Jr is a dedicated power amp reverb driver, giving you the depth, dynamics and lively response of the real deal.
The dwell control determines the strength of the signal heading into the power amplifier that drives the spring tank assembly. This affects the “drip,” being the tonal quality and decay of the reverb. Add brightness and presence with the tone control and blend with the dry signal to taste.
Following the reverb in the pedal’s chain is the amp-style tremolo inspired by vintage optical and bias tremolo circuits creating smooth, gentle pulses to a deeper throb with simple speed and intensity controls.
The original White Whale is a bit of a beast, but this Junior version makes it easy to get all your lovely sounds in a compact enclosure. The top mounted jacks make it easy to slot right into an existing board, and the soft click footswitches engage the effects seamlessly during your playing.
This White Whale isn’t the giant it once was… The Crazy Tubes White Whale Junior is actually one of the smallest fully analogue spring reverb and amp-style tremolo pedals around today! All the vintage surf tones that have dominated countless classic records in a standard pedal enclosure.
